DR650SE Dynojet install

I ordered a Dynojet kit to suit my DR650SE.

The change of pipe had made it necessary, as they run lean to start with.

I've done this before with the yellow one, and the results were good.

After much research I think this method works well.

There's two ways to do this apparently.

MXRob reckons this method is best.

Clip on second from the top, with the standard needle spacer ground to fit in the D shelf of the slide

The white spacer is ground so it sits in the "step" without kicking the needle.

The needle should sit straight vertically.

This way it wont rub and wear.

Dynojet 170 main fitted. 140 Mikuni jet in hand.

I ended up going back to a 160 after trying this.

The needle must sit straight into the emulsion tube.

The cheesy JIS screws need to go.

Replace with quality stainless hex heads.

With the richer jetting and pipe the airbox needs opening up.

Between the dremel and a holesaw I managed to do this.

Then I installed a screen to keep the rats out.

Some video of the DR with pipe and jet kit fitted.

Runs really well now.

South West Rocks Ride

I took the DR for a lap out to South West Rocks.

Seriously what a beautiful part of the world.

The new rescue boat looks pretty flash.

I met my friend Max down at the boat ramp.

He was keen to wet a line.

Then I met Max's stepdaughter Nadia down by the headland.

One of the best views in the valley.

Ride Bike Scooter and Skate

My friends Adam and Collette have kicked off their business.

They supply quality bikes, scooters and skateboards to suit all.

Heaps of accessories as well.

Look them up in Kempsey.

Auspost gets the new NBC110 Super Cub

My friend Ian the Postie showed his new Honda Cub to me the other day.

Fuel injected and very flash looking.

Just the thing for a postie challenge.

Whipps Alloy DR650SE bash plate

I made enquiry with Whipps Alloy about a bash plate for my DR650SE.

They didn't have one in stock but were happy to make one for me.

Only took a day or so and I went to pick it up.

It looks like Graham was working on a plate for his Husky Terra.

Great little workshop. Clean and well fitted.

There was more to see but I don't want to give all their secrets away.

Here's the new plate. The last one survived years of abuse.

Fitted no problem. A bit of loctite to keep things in place.

New Years Eve at Nulla Nulla Creek 2014

It's a bit late to be posting New Years Eve images I suppose.

But a lot of things have been happening lately.

Michele's mum was very ill through most of last year.

She finally passed from kidney failure. It was a slow lingering death.

I joined the Natureland Classic Motorcyle Club for their annual NYE celebration at Nulla.

We had drinks and laughs. It is always good.

Little did we know that my Uncle Head would pass from a massive heart attack weeks later.

Garry Franklin Cox, or "Head" as he was known has been a part of my family since forever..

I loved him like a father. He was my best mate, my uncle, my oldest friend.

He died in my dads front yard. I sat with him until the Funeral Home arrived to take him away.

It broke my heart. It is still broken.

Garry is the fellow with the big grey beard.

Dad gathers firewood while Garry looks on.

Just chilling.

Our favourite Frenchman and his lovely lady.

Garry has scratched himself and is bleeding well.

A big storm blew in out of the west.

The local 4WD club joined us on the Nulla Creek flat.

A mad Maltese.

Just chilling and chatting after a dip in the creek.

Sharon and Head sharing drinks and laughs.

BC doesn't like the flash on my camera.

Head the next day with a headache.

The crew seem to have lost something. Garry doesn't care.

Sitting in the shade yakking.

On of our resident school teachers. You think she'd find a better class of company.

Plomer Road

I love doing the Plomer Road to Maria River loop.

It has a bit of everything. You can even head across to Port Macquarie on the Ferry.

The DR650 handles it all quite well.
