Troy Bayliss Classic Taree

We'd been looking forward to the twilight meeting of the Troy Bayliss Classic for months now.

With a top notch field of name old and new, the racing was sure to be excellent.

The weather didn't wish to play well though, and rained intermittently through the day.

We spent most of the morning checking out the trials display, stunt bike and car burnouts.

A quick wander through the pits was good too, before the security got too harsh.

Racing proper didn't start till about 2pm, after the quads had cleaned the track once again,

But when it got going... holy crap it was good.

You could throw a blanket over the front runners in most races, and the old blokes were cracking.

Troy Bayliss put in a great effort, along with Troy Herfoss and our own Jarrod Oram.

Seeing Gally, Phil Lovett, Paul Caslick and many other old names going hell for leather was epic.

The sidecars are a personal favourite of mine with some very close racing and a few spills.

The quads put on a good show as well, and we have to thank them for their track cleaning efforts.

Racing continued well into the night, with the last race at about 10.30PM.

We packed up and headed home.

I was lucky enough to be designated driver and put up with two raving drunks all the way home.

Until they started snoring that is.

A great day.
