Nulla Nulla Creek Ride

Danny had called a few blokes to ride the top of Nulla Nulla Creek State Forest.

They called into Chunks place at Bellbrook at very short notice.

He was cool with it though and got his bike out for a run.
Orange seems to be the color of the day.

With a little bit of blue too.

Chunk says his goodbyes to the family.

Dave is keen to go

It was hella foggy as we left Bellbrook for the Nulla Nulla Creek Rd.

We turned off at Kilprotay Trail.

I saw an old BMW tootling up the track as we gathered ourselves together.
We spotted the fellow on the old BMW at the threeways and had a yak.
He was heading up into Brinerville and on to Bellingen

We discussed road conditions and what to expect next.

Chunk borrowed my camera for some corner shots.

Heres the corner. Digital camera lag can be a bastard sometimes.

Wait a minute, heres Danny!

Heres Chunk packing his umm... bag.

Buggah. The roads closed. Oh well, we weren't going that way anyway.

Chunk telling us fibs again. The fish wasn't that big surely.

Bloody green and orange clash a bit I reckon.

Dannys got wood. He's clearing the deadfall tree out of the way.

Just waiting for Chunk to pack his bo.. I mean bag away.

Thats a $1300 clutch brake combo lever.

Smiles all round. You'd need a shovel for all the bullshit.

Top of the gnarly hill. It was a good one.

Woops. Someones snapped a gear lever.

Time for a fuel swap.

At the Horseshoe Kilprotay Trail intersection.

Boonanghi Trail Early Spring Ride

Kingy and I organised a bit of a ride through Boonanghi.
I missed the meeting point through a miscommunication.
So it was a bit of a fuckup initially. Sorry boys.
We caught up with them on the Willi Willi Road,
then headed up Toorumbee and onto Stony Trail.

Leggsy didnt get 2kms up the ridge before he copped a flat tyre.
He turned around and headed home.

I think Kingy likes his new DRZ400.
I know I do. Its like riding a minibike after my DR650.

Chaff up to his usual tricks on the old DR250.

Yeah, theres a traffic hazard right in front of the sign.

We stopped to let Phil catch up.. again.

Eric was on his orange beastie.
Phil keeps trying to convince him to do the Kazakstan "Road of Bones" like Ewan and Charlie did. All I can say is it would be a slow trip. Glacially slow.

Might as well carry it in the tank eh Kingy?

Here comes Phil again. As fast as molasses on a cold day.
We lost him later. The bugger found us again though.

The other lads overshot the Trig Road.
At least me and Phil knew where we were going.

Sort of. He fell over about 1 second after this shot.
I knew where he was going anyway.
Horizontal.

Time for another orange Phil?

I cased this huge rock in the long grass. It made a massive dent in my bashplate.
It moved three feet from its resting place when I hit it.
I did a flying W and bounced my visor offf the front guard.
It was messy but I held it together. Luckily.

Heres Kingy inspecting the damage.

I really like my DR650. Its grown on me.

After the trig it gets a bit more rainforesty.
Is that even a word? Well it is now.

Here I was chasing Phil. He nearly got away.

In his dreams.

These blokes are hard to keep up with.

Tapin Tops Ride

I planned a ride down through Cottan Bimbang State Forest.

Heres the escarpment at Wauchope. They call it Bago Bluff.

I love old sheds.

This is great stuff on a big road bike.

An exceptional collection of rusty vehicles.

It rained for a while.

Knodingbull Road starts here.

Looking west from Blue Knob.

Looking east from Blue Knob.

Traction engine at Dingo Tops.

American Sequoia trees planted by timber getters in the 60's.

I had a decent camp. The mozzies were fierce.
A drop of whiskey helped me ignore them.

Good monring sunshine.

East towards the sea.

Lots of deep rainforest.

Looking towards Wingham.

Not a bad loop. I'll do it again and go over Barrington Tops next time.
